First Friday Cocktail Roundtable

Event Ended: Friday September 6th, 2019

The Excitement Continues

Our next cocktail roundtable is on Friday, September 6th, and our line up of bartenders are only getting better. This next First Friday, we welcome Katie Boatner from Royale to join us behind the bar to showcase her skill in crafting that oh so perfect cocktail. Laurel Cavanagh will be up from Vidrio.

New to Our Cocktail Roundable?

If you haven’t yet had a chance to stop in during First Friday, then make sure you add Vidrio as a stop either before, after or during your gallery tours. Every first Friday of the month, we join the list of exciting downtown activities, such as gallery openings, and events held by local businesses, to bring you a very unique event showcasing the amazing cocktail culture Raleigh has cultivated.

Guest bartenders join us behind the bar, to prepare a unique, innovative, no holds barred cocktail creation to serve up to guests, as a chance to compete for Cocktail of the Year. And who makes the ultimate decision? You do. Guests have a chance to taste the two cocktails up for debate, from our guest bartender and our staff bartender, and vote on who had the better libation. Want to be surprised, try something new, and join in the excitement, then join us for our upcoming event, September 6th.

Meet Katie

Katie Boatner of Royale is always on the hunt for something new. Having said that, she has a deep respect for classic libations as well. With varied industry experience in both food and wine, she is currently experimenting with port and vermouths in cocktails. Katie is not afraid to try anything and her regulars can attest to her spur of the moment creativity. Having grown up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, she knows that flavor and soul take an experience from something ordinary to something indelible and lasting. Come experience her gustatory creations First Friday.

Meet Laurel

Laurel Cavanagh has a passion for working with people, making strong connections, and introducing them to new flavors. That is what has brought her to working in hospitality and service in the first place. She thrives on learning what makes people tick, what their preferences are, and using that to craft libations that will bring them returning time and time again.
